Over the last 18 years of working with aging adults I have had the privilege of walking people through some of the most difficult decisions they have had to make. All of these situations have one thing in common, there's a trigger that causes the need to begin learning more and understanding resources.
My extensive experience in long-term care, assisted living, and dementia care is invaluable to those wanting to learn more. As an elder care educator, I have written several columns and I present on numerous topics related to elder care. I served as past President of the Cedar Rapids Elderly Consortium and I have been a volunteer committee member with the Alzheimer's Association of East Central Iowa and for the annual Caregiver Wellness Day.
My goal is to provide information that can help the public be proactive in the care of our aging adults. Ultimately helping them thrive despite whatever situation they are going through.
